I’m a library assistant, equal rights activist and self-confessed geek with a passion for the culture of my native north-east England and a serious addiction to any establishments that sell books, especially by J.R.R. Tolkien or Terry Pratchett. I have a number of rather weird (or at least uncommon!) hobbies – I love costuming, folk music and have just gotten involved with LARP (Live Action Roleplaying).

I also have a (rarely updated, oops) web site about north-east English folklore called Under Rowan Leaf. If you like the stories I’ve been posting in my blog, you might like the ones here too. The site also has (or will have) a lot of other north-east information, such as recipes, folk songs and music, history, places, people and events.
